A few months ago, we invited our international MoonClimbing team over to the UK, while they were here we pinned them down to get some of their top training hints and tips, to help improve your climbing, or as we say at Moon, #trainHardclimbHarder. In this week's video, Michiel Nieuwenhuijsen demonstrates how he warms up before a climbing session. He finds this is the most effective way to avoid climbing related shoulder and elbow injuries. Michiel climbed the big island in 2016 and coaches the Dutch climbing team.
Summary -
- Warm up slowly and progressively.
- Maintain good form throughout the warm up.
- All climbers should warm up before any session to perform at their best.
- Listen to your body and use the time spent warming up to focus on climbing so you are engaged mentally.
